Right at the end of trendy Kings Road you will come to Sloane Square. A hard landscaped square on the boundaries of Chelsea, Knightsbridge and Belgravia. The original home of the 'sloanies', a term coined in the 1980s to denote the young, underemployed and ostentatiously well-off residents of this part of London SW1, Sloane Square is today an affluent area for shopping, restaurants and unique businesses that ply their trade in the area including the iconic department store Peter Jones which has stood on its current site since 1877. A department store that traces it's heritage all the way back to a young Peter Rees Jones who came to London seeking his fortune in the late 19th century with only £14 to his name.
